What Is IMAT - The International Medical Entrance Test Exam?
The full name of IMAT is International Medical Entrance Test.
It is a type of aptitude test used as a part of the admission process in some specialized Italian universities.
IMAT is a 100-minute subject-specific entrance test offered in English in pharmaceutical surgery and dental courses in Italy.
Since these courses are taught in English, the examinations are open to both Italian and international students.
It is necessary to give this test to every student who wants to get admission into Italian public universities. These universities offer undergraduate courses in English medium.
This test is sometimes also called an Italian Medical Admission Test.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria Of IMAT Exam?
Just like students have to fulfill some basic eligibility requirements to appear in each exam, similarly for this exam also a student has to fulfill the basic eligibility requirement which are as follows:
- The student should have passed class XII from a recognized board.
- The student has to provide all the required information in the application form and fill the application form completely.
What Is The Format And Time Of IMAT?
First of all, we will talk about the format of the IMAT Exam. This entrance exam consists of the following four sections.
Section one contains questions related to logical reasoning and general knowledge, and sections two, three, and four contain some questions related to scientific knowledge.
Section one contains 22 multiple choice questions related to problem-solving, reasoning understanding, data analysis, inference, and general knowledge test.
Sections two, three, and four test a candidate’s school science ability to test scientific knowledge, consisting of approximately 38 multiple-choice questions.
In this international medical entrance test, the candidates are given 100 minutes, in which the candidate has to answer 40 questions.
The total marks of the candidate are calculated using the following formula:-
- 1 point or 5 marks are awarded for each correct answer.
- -0 points or 4 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.
- Each question you have not answered is awarded zero marks.
The overall score is extracted and reported by including the score of each section.
